Woman on mountain

Take a walk through the wonders of nature while exercising your eyes on the incredible scenery and exercising your body through mountainous terrain.

Hike through miles of shoreline, as well as wooded areas and explore all Shasta Lake has to offer on foot.

Many of the trails at Shasta Lake follow the lake shoreline. They offer plenty of opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, running, fishing, sightseeing and wildlife viewing. Three of these shoreline trails, Bailey Cove, Packers Bay, and Clikapudi, make loops and return to their point of origin via a different route. Bailey Cove is the shortest of these trails and also the easiest. Our trails include:

  • Shasta Lake

  • Castle Crags

  • Shasta-Trinity National Forest

  • Bailey Cove Trail

  • Clikapudi Trail

  • Dry Fork Creek Trail

  • Fishermans Point Trail

  • Hirz Bay Trail

  • Packers Bay Trail

  • Potem Falls Trail

  • Sugarloaf Trail

When you have had enough of land, get back on the water in your fishing boat or a rented one and relax while catching your dinner.

Spend the day on the lake with a fishing rod in hand, the sun shining down, cool breezes in your face, and relaxation all around.

In Shasta Lake, you'll find a myriad of fish, including delicious trout, bass, salmon, sturgeons, cat fish, bluegill and more! You can catch and cook up yourself for a homemade dinner.
